The following were the outreach events the team participated/is scheduled to participate in:
- Presented the robot and project to a Daisy Girl Scout troop and demonstrated a couple of missions as well as did a few activities with them to introduce them to robots and programming. Most of the girls now want to learn programming from the team.
- Ran a table at the Middlesex county fair where the team demonstrated their robot as well as had several stem experiments for kids to play and discover with. They spoke to kids and parents about First lego league and explained the process to get competition ready
- Ran a table at the Community fair in West Windsor where the team demonstrated a couple of missions as well as introduced people and kids to the competition
- The team demonstrated their project to the Deputy Mayor and Environmental Commission of Plainsboro and got their feedback on what they can do to improve their working model as well as problems they need to consider before a large scale model can be implemented. They have been invited to come back and present their improved model in January 2023.
- The team also met with the Mayor and Environmental commission of West Windsor. They explained their innovation project idea and solution and got feedback from the experts there. The team has been asked to get back with their improved solution in January 2023.
- The team presented their robot and project to a Cadette Girl Scout troop hoping to inspire more girls to take up STEM.
- The team realized that many kids who attend the competition usually have to wait between their judging and robot rounds and decided to have a craft activity available for kids to do as they wait. They had a huge line around their table of kids waiting to do the craft and many teams took the pinwheels that they made to judging, used them to cheer, ran around with them. It was a joy to see the team craft bringing joy to everyone during a time of competition.
- The team plans to run workshops for kids and parents who want to learn more about robotics/programming and the stem. They will share what they have learnt on their journey and hope that they can help spread their love for STEM.
